Now you can listen to voice notes while browsing chats: WhatsApp tests global voice message player

Instant messaging application WhatsApp is all set to roll out its latest feature. The application is rolling out a global voice note player for WhatsApp beta for Android.

The new feature will also be compatible with WhatsApp Messenger beta for iOS 22.1.72 and WhatsApp Business beta for iOS 22.1.72. However, WhatsApp is yet to announce the date for the activation of the feature on WhatsApp beta for Android.

The global voice note player allows users to listen to voice notes while switching to different chats. According to a post on, the feature was under development on WhatsApp for iOs, however, it is finally being launched for iOS beta now.

According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, the voice note player appears on the top of the screen. The player lets users continue listening to notes while navigating through different chats.

The report on the website also stated that the feature has been rolled out to some beta testers at the current stage. WhatsApp was reportedly working on a global voice message player for iOS in October 2021. The same feature reportedly has been tested for Android users earlier this week.

WhatsApp, the most preferred messaging application around the world, has been consistently working towards improving its services.

Earlier this month, the instant messaging application submitted a new update through the TestFlight Beta program according to WABetainfo. According to the website, the new update brings information related to mentions and replies from group chats. Following the update, replies and mentions are added in notifications when one receives messages from group chats. WhatsApp has not enabled this feature for individual chats.
